My honey pot (a/k/a hubby) is as sweet as can be – but his job takes up most of his time. I decided finally to outsource my “honey to do” list. As a first-time mom, especially, I didn’t realize the number of items to ASSEMBLE and TAKE APART! My husband works, I work, and well – I frankly do not want to spend my little free-time these days assembling furniture.

That is when I cam across Fixer.com and let me tell you, it was the best discovery since becoming a new mom. The site was founded by GrubHub founder Mike Evans, who wanted to make getting a handyman as easy as ordering dinner! And OMG was it ever!!! A few minutes into my frustration at reassemblying my son’s crib (it was time to move him from our bedroom to his own room), I googled “handyman on demand” and came across Fixer. I clicked on a time I wanted my service (ASAP, so literally within the hour) and – what do you know – a handyWOMAN shows up at my door! Just like ordering food! I could not believe it. Becky, my handywoman, quickly disabbled my son’s crib, reassembled it into his new room, and had some time to spare to fix up a few other items in the house. I was in shock! How could it be that easy? I could have saved myself so much time and trouble putting together all those baby toys and items before baby arrived! I know have Fixer.com on standby. I use them for everythinggggggg!!! And Becky is still my favorite superwoman – she literally saved the day for me.

Right now, Fixer.com is only available in Chicago. But Chicago moms, take advantage! Instead of fixing things around the house, you and your partner can, relax, get work done, or spend time with your little ones. Personally, I like to use my little free time to continue working and advancing my career. And it saves me from nagging the hubby (who is working hard already at the office) to get things done. I think it’s a win-win, and I bet you will too!

Oh and to all the “honeys” out there that are the subject of that “honey to do” list – don’t be afraid to outsource as well. As long as it’s done, we don’t care HOW it’s done!
